Quick answer

The strongest private pool villa resorts in Vietnam are Six Senses Ninh Van Bay (every villa has its own pool; 2026 World Travel Awards honeymoon winner), Six Senses Con Dao, Four Seasons The Nam Hai near Hoi An (pool villas of 250–660 m²), Banyan Tree Lang Co and Amanoi. All five hold MICHELIN Keys in 2026. In Phu Quoc, Regent Phu Quoc (one Key) has only suites and villas, many with private pools.

Phu Quoc: private pool villas

Regent Phu Quoc is on the white-sand Bai Truong beach, and it is the island's only resort in the MICHELIN Guide's 2026 Key selection. The guide notes it has "no mere rooms": every one of its 298 units is a suite or villa, many with a private pool and the rest opening onto lagoon pools that wind through the grounds, none more than a few steps from the beach. It also has a spa, a rooftop pool terrace at Fu Bar, and its own yacht, Serenity, for hire.

Getting there takes a direct flight of about an hour from Ho Chi Minh City. See how to get to Phu Quoc.

Hoi An and Da Nang: pool villas near the old town

Four Seasons The Nam Hai has the widest choice of villa sizes in Vietnam. Its villas are modelled on Central Vietnamese garden houses (nha vuon). The one- and two-bedroom pool villas (250 and 400 m²) have private infinity pools and a separate dining pavilion. The specialty villas have three to five bedrooms (520–660 m²). Pool villa guests get a personal attendant, airport transfers and daily laundry.

Further north, Banyan Tree Lang Co has pool villas on the beach and on the lagoon, and makes one base for both Hue and Hoi An. In Da Nang, TIA Wellness Resort (formerly Fusion Maia) has private pool villas with spa treatments included on its packages.

Before you book a pool villa

  • Children and stairs: hillside and rock villas often have steep steps. Six Senses Ninh Van Bay advises against its Hill Top, Water Pool, Rock Pool and Rock Retreat villas for very young children or guests with limited mobility.
  • Access: Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is reached only by boat, about 1 hour 15 minutes from Cam Ranh Airport by car and speedboat. Amanoi is about 75 minutes by road from Cam Ranh. Con Dao is a flight of about 40–45 minutes from Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Season: the central coast (Hoi An, Lang Co) has its rainy season in autumn. See Vietnam's rainy season, region by region before you choose a beach.

Building a trip around the villas

A villa stay works best as the end of a private tour: Hanoi and Halong Bay first, then Hue and Hoi An, then a few days doing nothing in your own pool. Tell us which resorts you are considering, and we will check villa availability and plan the route, flights and transfers around them.
