Sample Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Denpasar, drive to Jimbaran

On arrival in Bali, you'll be met by your private guide, who will accompany you to your hotel in Jimbaran.

Day 2
Uluwatu Temple & Kecak performance, seafood dinner

After a morning at leisure, take a late afternoon drive out to Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu), perched dramatically on a steep cliff top. This is one of Bali’s most important temples, believed to protect the island from evil spirits. As the sun sets over the sea, stay to watch a traditional kecak performance, where over 100 men rhythmically sway and chant in a dance depicting a battle from the Ramayana. Return to Jimbaran to grab a seat at one of the dozens of beach stalls for an unforgettable feet-in-the-sand dinner of freshly grilled seafood.

Day 3
Beach time

Your day will be at leisure to relax on the beach and make the most of the hotel's facilities.

Day 4
Drive to Ubud

Take the morning at leisure, relishing Jimbaran’s gentle pace for a final few hours before transferring to Ubud. Having checked in at your hotel, the remainder of your day in Ubud will be at leisure to relax or explore the sights.

Day 5
Explore central Bali's rice paddies, lakes & temples

Head out to discover the lakes, temples and stunning scenery of the surrounding area. Stop at Bedugul to explore the local market, with its stalls of eye-catching tropical fruits, vegetables, spices and flowers, before continuing on to Ulun Danu, rumoured to be the most photographed temple in Bali. Built on several small islands, the temple appears to ‘float’ on the surface of Bratan Lake, its distinctive tiered roofs mirrored in the waters below, and is one of Bali’s holiest Hindu temples. Head back towards Ubud via the UNESCO listed rice terraces of Jatiluwih, where there’ll be time for a leisurely short trek through the fields, learning about the traditional ‘subak’ style of rice farming. Take a final stop at Pura Taman Ayun, the Royal Temple of Mengwi, surrounded by a moat and boasting multi–roofed meru shrines and intricately carved wooden gates, before returning to Ubud.

Day 6

Day 7
Drive to Sidemen, via temples & mountains

Set off towards Mount Batur, enjoying panoramic views along the way. Stop en-route to descend over 300 steps into the river valley at Gunung Kawi’s 11th century temple complex, where imposing shrines, each standing over 8 metres high, have been sculpted into the rock face. Proceed to the equally impressive Hindu temple complex of Tirta Empul, meaning ‘holy water spring’, where Balinese Hindus travel annually for purification in its bathing areas. The cleansing ritual is strictly for devotees, so you won’t be able to participate, but can witness the ritual taking place. Continue north to Kintamani, a volcanic region with the active Mt Batur as its centrepiece. Although not the island's highest volcano, Batur is certainly its' most active, and sits within a high-walled caldera, along with a large crater lake that reflects the spectacular views. After exploring Kintamani return to your car and continue onto Sidemen.

Day 8
Countryside cycling

Saddle up for an hour-long cycling trip with your guide through the picturesque rural landscape around Sidemen. This gentle route takes you through rice terraces, past clove and coffee plantations and nurseries growing chillies. The duration of your ride is flexible, so if you want a longer journey just ask your guide. After the morning’s exertions, the rest of your day will be at leisure.

Day 9
Boat to Lombok

Step aboard a shared boat at Padang Bai jetty for a two hour journey across the strait to Lombok. Watch the island’s mountainous horizon grow closer, and anticipate time spent on its famous golden sands. Upon arrival, transfer to your chosen beach hotel. Time to kick off your shoes and sink your toes into the sand!

Day 10
Gili Islands snorkelling

Grab your snorkelling gear and board a boat from Teluk Kode pier where you will meet your guide and head to Gili Meno, just off the northwest coast. The smallest and least developed of the three northern Gili Islands, Gili Meno boasts unspoilt beaches and some excellent snorkelling and diving opportunities. Visibility is good all year round, allowing you uninterrupted encounters with graceful rays, schools of batfish, and both hawksbill and leatherback turtles. After taking a horse cart ride on the island, continue by boat to Gili Air where there will be time to relax on the beach and swim in clear blue waters. Return to Teluk Kode late afternoon and transfer back to your resort.

Days 11 & 12
A few days R&R

Your days will be at leisure to relax on the beach and make the most of the hotel's facilities.

Day 13
Depart Lombok

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

We took a 16-day private tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. The tour company suggested a detailed itinerary, and we accepted it with minor changes. We had three domestic flights, and on every landing were met by our local guide on arrival. All guides spoke fluent English and were very knowledgeable. This was a trip of a lifetime. Dont miss the Red Bridge cooking school class in Hoi An - the chef has created a phenomenal program that starts with the tour of the local market and explanation of the vegetables and spices used in local cuisine. Highly recommended!

My family and I completed a 12 day cycling trip with Vietnam Private Tours, and we had a blast. Our route started in Saigon, rode along the Mekong river, discovered Mekong delta, and relaxed on the Phu Quoc beaches is southern Vietnam. We loved the adventurous off-road routes, and we were comfortable the whole way thanks to the excellent support staff. We also loved supporting Vietnam Private Tours because of the amazing work they do with many charities, especially the incredible children’s hospital in Mekong delta.

We just finished a 14-day cycling tour from Saigon to Siem Reap, spending 7 nights on board the Mekong River. We rode bikes 30k to 70 km daily, to the Mekong Delta rice fields. My Way Travel really understood that not everyone would will to ride, so they already made provision for people who didn’t ride with us. The guides were excellent and so was the trip. We really loved the boat, it had everything we needed on it. A group of 16 people were accommodated in 8 cabins, which means there were 2 people in a cabin. The food and drinks were all in abundance. Free Wi-Fi and laundry service were available too. The local people were amazingly friendly, and the environments really gave us a sense of relief. The hotels at either end of the trip were exemplary. Above all, we have made our minds to always use My Travel on every trip occasion, due to the great experience we had with them.

Had an awesome time biking to Mekong Delta from Saigon last week. Beautiful views, peaceful rural paths, and lots of cool stops. The guides took great care of us. Definitely recommend VPT for biking in Mekong Delta and other tours in Vietnam.
