Travel to Ben Tre, a town at the delta's entrance. Hop on a small boat for a tour of the region known as Vietnam's rice bowl. Vietnam is a leading rice exporter, thanks to the Mekong's climate allowing multiple rice harvests annually. Seafood, particularly shrimp and catfish, is another key export.
Visit a home-based coconut processing factory to see how oil, flesh, and husks are used for products like matting and candy. Next, transfer to Mekong Cruise, a converted rice barge, for a Mekong River cruise. Participate in a Vietnamese cooking demo and savor a three-course lunch. Enjoy the scenery on your return to Ben Tre before heading to Can Tho, the delta's main economic center.
