Tra Su Cajuput Forest & Nui Sam
Full-Day Excursion from Chau Doc
Experience the natural beauty and spiritual center of the Mekong Delta on this full-day tour to Tra Su Cajuput Forest and Mount Sam – two of the most famous attractions in the Mekong Delta.
Morning: Leave your hotel in Chau Doc to travel to Tra Su Cajuput Forest, an idyllic bird sanctuary in flooded mangrove forest. On your arrival, board a motorboat and tour the tranquil green waterways on a traditional bamboo boat, enjoying the view of the tall cajuput trees and lotus flowers along the way. This eco-reserve is home to dozen of birds, including storks, great white herons and others. Climb up the lookout tower to take in fantastic views of the dark green forest canopy, and the mountains in the distance.
Lunch: Savor a local lunch at a countryside restuarant near the forest, featuring regional Mekong Delta dishes.
Afternoon: Next, we travel to Mount Sam, the highest point of land in the Mekong Delta. You will visit sacred sites that are located along the slopes of Mount Sam – Ba Chua Xu Temple, Tay An pagoda, and the Tomb of Thoai Ngoc Hau. While climbing upward, take in beautiful views of rice paddies, and the border with Cambodia.
After your tour, you will return to Chau Doc in the late afternoon.
