Morning:
Depart from your hotel in Chau Doc and drive to the Tra Su Cajuput Forest, a tranquil bird sanctuary and flooded mangrove forest. Hop on a motorboat, then glide through quiet green waterways on a traditional sampan boat. Surrounded by tall cajuput trees and lotus flowers, this peaceful eco-reserve is home to dozens of bird species, including storks and herons. Climb the observation tower for panoramic views of the forest canopy and distant mountains.
Lunch:
Enjoy a local lunch at a countryside restaurant near the forest, featuring regional Mekong Delta specialties.
Afternoon:
Continue to Nui Sam, the highest point in the Mekong Delta. Visit sacred sites nestled on the slopes, including the Ba Chua Xu Temple, Tay An Pagoda, and the Tomb of Thoai Ngoc Hau. As you ascend, enjoy stunning views over rice paddies and the border with Cambodia.
