Excursion to Long Tan & Nui Dat Battlefields
Step back in time on this full-day guided tour to the historic Long Tan and Nui Dat battlefields, a significant site from the Vietnam War.
Your journey begins with a convenient pickup from either your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City or directly from Phu My Port. Our experienced driver will accompany you on a scenic three-hour drive to Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, where a knowledgeable local guide will join us en route in Vung Tau City.
The first stop is Nui Dat SAS Hill, the former base of the Australian Task Force. Here, you’ll explore the old helicopter pad, the former camp area, and get a feel for the 4-kilometer perimeter that once surrounded the base. Continue through the surrounding rubber plantations and pass Mong Ngua Mountain, once a hiding place for Vietnamese forces.
We then visit the solemn Long Tan Cross Memorial, a site honoring both Australian and Vietnamese soldiers who fell during the fierce 1966 battle.
Next, discover the Long Phuoc Tunnels – an underground network once used by the Viet Cong for combat, shelter, and supply.
The day concludes with a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant in Ba Ria before we return to your original pickup point.
