DMZ & Vinh Moc Tunnels Tour from Hue
This full-day journey takes you from Hue into the historical heart of Quang Tri Province, exploring key landmarks from the Vietnam War and learning about the area’s deep cultural and political significance.
The adventure begins with a visit to La Vang Holy Land, an important Catholic pilgrimage site set amid peaceful surroundings, believed by many to be the site of an apparition of the Virgin Mary. Traveling along Highway 9, you’ll pass by former American military bases, including the Rockpile, once used as a strategic observation point during the war.
Continue to Dakrong Bridge, a symbolic gateway to the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, and then on to Khe Sanh Combat Base, the site of one of the most intense battles of the war. After a local lunch in Dong Ha Town, the tour continues north along Highway 1 to the Ben Hai River and Hien Luong Bridge, once the dividing line between North and South Vietnam after the Geneva Accords.
The final highlight of the day is a visit to the remarkable Vinh Moc Tunnels an underground network built to shelter villagers from bombing raids. With living spaces, wells, and meeting rooms, this complex gives a powerful glimpse into life during wartime.
This tour is perfect for those seeking a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s modern history, with stories of resilience, survival, and sacrifice woven into every stop.
