Excursion to Tam Coc & Hang Mua
A Day of Scenic Beauty and Cultural Charm
Take a break from Hanoi’s frantic pace and escape to the picturesque countryside of Ninh Binh where limestone mountains, winding rivers, and beautiful landscapes await. Your day begins at Tam Coc, described as Halong Bay on land, where you will travel by traditional sampan along the tranquil Ngo Dong River, passing through karst formations, rice fields (if in season), and three natural caves, Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba. You can also climb a limestone hill for a fantastic view of the valley below.
After a delicious Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant, enjoying local dishes such as goat meat or crispy rice, you will continue on to Hang Mua (Mua Cave), home to a beautiful stone staircase that leads you up a mountainside to a breathtaking view from above. It is here, sitting on an out-cropping, that you can take in the 360-degree vistas over Tam Coc and the surrounding rice fields, the perfect spot for that ultimate ‘Instagram’ photo.
This day trip brings together natural beauty, a little adventure, and a sense of local culture to create one of Hanoi’s most fulfilling one day trips.
