For travelers who are seeking a unique experience in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam, we have crafted this unique locals-experience tour. Head off the beaten path to see just what everyday life is like in the Delta. Wander through vibrant fruit orchards, cycle alongside locals along coconut palms and swaying rice paddies, visit floating markets and so much more. From the bustling city of Can Tho with its Cai Rang Floating Market, the Khmer culture of Tra Vinh and the floating villages of Chau Doc, you will get a unique insider’s view and deeper understanding of life in the Mekong Region.

Day 1: Saigon - Tra Vinh

Today you’re going on a 4 hours road trip, to the picturesque town of Tra Vinh, an area that’s quite far off the tourist trail, where you’ll set out on the mighty Mekong for a river cruise. In the afternoon we will explore the villages along the delta & culture. The next stops are Khmer Buddhism pagodsa and Cao Dai Church will give you knowledge about the mixture of culture and tradition.
Day 2: Tra Vinh – Can Tho

Once staying here, you should get up early and enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the countryside before having breakfast in the homestay. You can choose continuing to bike and communicate with the locals Or join the local’s daily activities such as fishing, planting tree or pick fruit, etc with the host. After the lunch, you will depart for Can Tho to visit Con Son – A featured community tourist site there. Enjoying the fresh air around the immense garden with numerous kind of fruit, joining a cooking class in the garden and learn to make cakes with the local chef.
Day 3: Can Tho – Chau Doc

Today you will visit Cairang Floating Market – The biggest one in the Mekong which numerous species traded.
Back to your hotel for breakfast. It then takes you 3 hours to Chau Doc to discover this beautiful Town. We will get on a boat through Cham people’s villages in the riverside and get to know about their handicraft product – Silk weaving. The boat keeps taking you to Chau Giang District where the biggest Islamic church of the Cham community is located.
At the afternoon, you’ll visit khmer’s temper, fishing farm then move to Sam mountant to enjoy the breath-taking view and sunset over the mountain.
Day 4: Chau Doc – Saigon – Departure

There are 2 options you can choose between:

Alternative 1: After the breakfast, you will get on coach to the dock and take a speedboat to Phnompenh and continue the trip in Cambodia.

Alternative 2: After the breakfast, You will visit “Ba Chua Xu” Temple to find out Vietnam’s mothership beliefs, go around Chau Doc market and buy some souvenirs for your beloveds. Then we will travel to Tra Su Melaleuca forest.

Stop for lunch in the restaurant. It takes you 8 hours on the way to HCM city.
The trip end at late afternoon.

Stephanie and I have returned safe and sound to our home in Atlanta. We can’t thank you enough for being such an excellent guide and companion during the last 4 days in southern Vietnam!
