Vietnam has a varying climate and landscape. It ranges from four seasons in the north mountainous part and all year tropical temperature in the lush south part. In fact, there is a lot to experience and see in Vietnam which I’m sure you will truly enjoy. They have:
MEKONG DELTA
It is a 15, 000 square mile network of streams that connects to the Mekong river. You can ride the nam pam rowing boat and float along the river with new found unprecedented peace along those waterways while enjoying the view.
WATER PUPPET
Get a chance to see a water puppet used by farmers as part of their rice and rain ceremonies. Be entertained by those skilled puppeteers as they manoeuvre the puppets in a shallow water behind a screen to create an energetic and synchronised performance.
CU CHI TUNNEL
You can visit the amazing maze of tunnels of Cu CHi and see various mantraps on display. You will also get to see the remains of American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bomb that was dropped by B52 bombers during the war in South Vietnam. The Cu chi tunnel gives you a unique experience on what underground life during the war must have been like.
HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR
Ho Chi Minh City, formerly called Saigon, is the largest city in Vietnam. They have a War Remnants Museum where you can see the Exhibition House of American War Crimes. They have there the military equipment which is located within a walled yard and halls. The War Remnants Museum is filled with graphic photographs, a real guillotine, a simulated “tiger cage” prison and jars of deformed foetuses.
You can also visit Notre Dame Cathedral - a French-built Catholic cathedral which is officially known as the Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception, a church just next to Ho Chi Minh Post office. Or, you can just take a walk along the city and enjoy viewing the sunset in the Saigon river.
CUC PHUONG
Visit the most famous national park in Vietnam - Cuc Phuong, North Vietnam. It is located south of Hanoi which is surrounded by 2 chains of mountains. The park’s climate provides a conducive growing conditions for the plants. They even have almost 170 mammal species and more than 130 different kinds of birds in their sanctuary.
FARMS
The farms in the north-western mountain parts of Vietnam still use the TRADITIONAL Vietnamese style of farming. They have open ground floor in the house which is used as stable and workshop. While the upper part is the living quarter and to sum it all - the houses there look like they were built on piles.
HOAN KIEM LAKE
In North Vietnam you will see the Hoan Kiem Lake which is part of Hanoi. According to the legend, there’s a giant golden turtle that came up from the lake. The golden turtle took the sword of King Le Li in (1427) to help the king drive the Chinese away who were occupying the place.
